Olsen Bach Project Motuoapa
“Thank you for the successful completion of the “Olsen Bach” which has been a 3 year project, where your flexibility in the building process and “No Worries’ approach is really appreciated. The completed house has exceeded our original expectations, as the views of Lake Taupo are fantastic and the original brief to the architect for a bach feel maximising the views and using the maximum section footprint has been achieved.
When we called tenders for the project, the prices submitted from major named building companies were higher than expected while Central Plateau Builders offered a conforming tender but with alternative options and timeframe’s which was more attractive to both parties.
During the build process you and your subcontractors offered alternative solutions which still delivered the same end result but in a more cost effective manner.
The option to build the shell to lockup, and then complete the downstairs unit in the first year, meant the house could be used during the subsequent years during the building process, allowing members of the family to be involved, along with starting to landscape the grounds. The completion of the upstairs floor as wet weather work for Central Plateau Builders has allowed the build cost to be spread over a longer period.
I would recommend Central Plateau Builders Limited (Certified Builders) to any people considering building a new home or undertaking alterations.

Boat Shed and Associated facilities

Thomas of Tokaanu would like to compliment Mr Chris Smith and his team at Central Plateau Builders for the superb quality of building craftsmanship they practiced in the construction of a boat shed and associated facilities such as workshop, laundry, toilet and stores at our property at 420 SH41, Tokaanu.
This building is stage 1 of our retirement project and I have no reservations in asking them back in due course to construct the second and subsequent stages.
Throughout the build they amicably accepted changes requested and likewise were able to point out changes that would enhance the final project.

Holiday Home in Motuoapa
We had a Holiday Home built in Motuoapa and have been very happy with the result. We can highly recommend Chris and his team.
Chris wasn’t the cheapest, but we have had no regrets about choosing his team. The house turned out really well and we have had many positive comments on the finishing quality of the building.
Chris has been easy to deal with. Although we had definite thoughts about what we wanted, Chris also provided some very good ideas that we could take back to our architect for implementation.
His building staff were courteous at all times and extremely tidy. The site was always left in a viewable state.”

A very “different build”
We did an unusual extension to our home – best described as a very “different build”. It was not at all an easy one to price.
Chris had no problem coming to grips with working through the many issues associated with the project – particularly as it was a really “out of the ordinary” job.
Chris and his building team were great to work with and Chris was always onsite when needed to supervise. The staff were obviously well organised, tidy and very polite when we were frequently on site.
The quality of the job really impressed us both and equally impressed with Chris’s staff. I am an engineer and used to working with small dimensions … but Chris’s staff were well ahead of the play with the job’s requirements.

Holiday home alterations
We had an architect design a large deck and major alterations to our holiday home. The project was a very difficult one as it was an old home that had been successively “altered” over the years in a haphazard manner and badly needed sorting out. The project was all about turning that situation around.
Lets just say there was a whole lot of “undoing” to be done before the main work of rebuilding could be done.
The standard of Chris’s team of builders was excellent. Chris was very easy to work with, very considerate of any changes requested and he met all our timeframes. He had some great ideas about the project that we adopted and he was very easy to communicate with when needed.
The result was excellent and we would recommend Chris and his Company to anyone. It was value for money in every sense.
